SUPREME SPORT MANAGEMENT IN CONJUNCTION WITH TACTIC CONNECT, THE BRITISH ASSOCIATION OF SPORT AND LAW, DE MONTFORT UNIVERSITY AND THE SUPPORT OF THE BULGARIAN MINISTRY OF YOUTH AND SPORTS, IS PROUD TO PRESENT A SPORTS LAW AND MANAGEMENT CONFERENCE THAT WILL BRING TOGETHER LEADING SPORTS LAW AND BUSINESS EXPERTS FROM THE UNITED KINGDOM AND BULGARIA .
THIS FULL DAY CONFERENCE, TO BE HELD AT THE NATIONAL FOOTBALL BASE "BOYANA", SOFIA, BULGARIA, WILL ALLOW THOSE WITH AN INTEREST IN SPORTS LAW, GOVERNANCE AND BUSINESS THE OPPORTUNITY TO HEAR WHAT THE LEADING EXPERTS THINK ABOUT THE IMPORTANT ISSUES OF THE DAY, BEFORE DEBATING THE SAME AT A DRINKS RECEPTION AND NETWORKING SESSION.
PURPOSE
THE SPORTS LAW AND MANAGEMENT CONFERENCE IS DESIGNED FOR ATTORNEYS, AGENTS AND OTHER REPRESENTATIVES OF PROFESSIONAL ATHLETES, PROFESSIONAL SPORTS TEAMS AND LEAGUES, PLAYERS ASSOCIATIONS, STADIUM AND ARENA AUTHORITIES, AMATEUR SPORTS AND INTERCOLLEGIATE ORGANISATIONS, STUDENTS AND PROFESSORS OF SPORTS LAW, EDUCATORS AND ALL OTHERS GENERALLY INTERESTED IN THE FIELD OF SPORTS LAW AND SPORTS MANAGEMENT.THE PURPOSE OF THE CONFERENCE IS TO PROVIDE AN INSIGHT INTO SPORTS MANAGEMENT, SPORTS LAW AND BEST PRACTICE IN SPORT. EACH OF THE SPEAKERS HAVE BEEN CHOSEN, NOT BECAUSE OF THEIR TITLE, RATHER BECAUSE OF THEIR KNOWLEDGE IN SPORT AND CERTAIN CONTEXT

GENEVIEVE
GORDON
Having a first degree in Business & Finance Genevieve went on to train as a lawyer. Since 2001 has worked actively within sports law. She has advised organisations such as the NPA, Brighton Bears and many others. Genevieve was an initial advisory to British Polo Enterprises for the inaugural British Polo Masters. Other long-term projects included working for Major League Baseball International on The World Baseball Classic and MLB Academies and commercial and individual player projects. Genevieve launched Tactic Counsel in 2013 and prior to the merger of Orange Street Media ran the company to service those that wouldn’t normally engage support in the sector. Tactic Counsel worked successfully with talented amateur athletes, GB coaches, elite athletes, sports organisations and governing bodies.
Tactic Connect, (Genevieve is CEO) is a bespoke sports agency providing innovative, supportive and impactful solutions to a range of clients including athletes, sports organisations, clubs and businesses wishing to be involved in sport.
Genevieve is Director of De Montfort University’s Centre of Research for Innovation, Sport, Technology and Law (CRISTAL) and runs both the International Sports Law LLM and BASL Sports Law in Practice Certificate. She teaches International Sports Policy and Global Sports Marketing at American universities including Syracuse University and Ithaca College and previously launched sports law onto the syllabus at Birkbeck, University of London where she acted as a sessional lecturer in International Sports Law, Tort Law and Contract Law for 9 years.
Annually Genevieve speaks at Cambridge University on the English Legal System and Comparative Systems with a sports law focus. Most recently Genevieve has written a Masters degree entitled The Business of Motorsport which is being well received in industry.
Her research work focuses on Duty of Care, motorsport governance, legal issues surrounding equine sports, learning disabilities in sport and the legalities of sport sponsorships and other commercial relationships. She holds an LLM in International Sports Law, is a trustee of UKSA, sits on the Board of Stoolball England, is an advisory board member to Set4Success and sits on the British Association for Sport and Law Board.
GARY
STANNETT
Gary is CEO of the Rio Ferdinand’s Foundation and works as a consultant to various sports organisations including CONCACAF and Celtic FC.
Gary Stannett has over 20 years’ experience in the commercial, elite and community aspects of sport, including programme and product development and management, commercial sponsorship and CSR and policy development. During his career Gary has worked with a number of international sports and retail brands to deliver CSR and sponsorship initiatives, worked with major clubs in England and Scotland to extend their reach internationally and provided consultancy support and advice to a range of athletes to improve their networks, commercial viability and public perception.
Between 2007 and 2018 Gary founded and led an internationally acclaimed sports charity, Active Communities Network (ACN), receiving an MBE for his work in the Sport for Development sector.
ADRIAN
BARR-SMITH
For over 20 years Adrian was a London partner in international law firm Dentons. He specialises in media finance, broadcasting, gambling, film, marketing, sponsorship, media content/rights and sport. He is a member of the judicial panel of the (English) Football Association and until April 2019 was chair of the British Association for Sport and Law. At London Olympics 2012 Adrian managed a Doping Control Unit, plus for the Paralympic Games.
He is a director of an internet start-up silversurfers.com and chair of a solar energy renewables company. For 10 years he has chaired a small management consultancy specialising in patient safety within healthcare.

KEVIN
CARPENTER
Kevin is a sports lawyer with an international reputation as regards integrity, governance, disciplinary and regulatory issues having advised on these areas across a diverse range of sports. Currently he is a Senior Lecturer at Manchester Metropolitan University, Special Counsel (Sports Integrity) for global sports data and technology company Genius Sports and Principal of his own consultancy Captivate Legal & Sports Solutions. During his career to-date he was worked for and with a range of stakeholders in the sector including international federations, national governing bodies, clubs, players’ unions, inter-governmental organisations and other public bodies. He also sits as a disciplinary panel chair and wing-member for global and national sporting organisations.
